Booger McFarland will join a reconfigured Monday Night Football crew in a newly created field analystposition, The Athletic reported, citing unidentified sources.
Limited Youth Ryan McDonagh Jersey ESPN apparently was testing the position at the Pro Bowl when it used Louis Riddick on the field. Riddick reportedly also auditioned for the MNF position that went to McFarland.
Lisa Salters will be part of the Monday Night Football crew as well.
McFarland has been with ESPN since 2014, initially hired for the SEC Network, but his role across ESPN’s TV and radio programming has expanded since then.
Early reports of Jason Witten’s retirement described his new position on Monday Night Football as lead analyst with new play-by-play announcer Joe Tessitore, hinting that there might be more than one analyst in the new configuration.
Matt Hasselbeck and Kurt Warner were among those considered for the booth, according to multiple reports.
